i just lowered my 99 FRC and i cut the first bushing in the rear. the front i lowered using the bolt. i know it takes time to settle but the rear is about an inch lower. i want the front to be lower is their a bushing up front i could cut to get it lower in the front and if so where is it. any info would be great
No need to cut the rear bushings...the stock adjustment will usually put the rear lower than the front anyways.
Yes, there is a front bushing, and it's attached to the bottom of the front bolts. This tech tip show's what's involved to remove the bolts and cut the bushings.
Many, like myself, have just jacked up the spring enough to saw the front bushing off with the bolt in place. It requires no dissasembly, but you'll need something like a hydraulic spreader to spead the spring up high enough to access the bushing under the spring. Not the safest method, but if you have the tools and are aware enough to never ever put your hand under the spring when it's jacked up, it saves a lot of time.
I had cut front bushings on mine.Last weekend I pulled the front adjuster bolts out.Only lowered it 1/4+" so coilovers are one the way.You can get low with cutting the front bushings and longer bolts in the rear.
Thanks for the info I cut the entire bushing of the front bolt and the front is now lower then the rear and looks great i will post pics when i get my camera
Looks like I have to have mine cut also. But it does concern me how this affects ride/handling. Also is there any premature wear of any associated parts.
The ride is alittle more harsh but the handeling has incresed. the olny thing is my plastic spoiler underneath scrapes under every speed bump. but it looks awsome.
