Default Magnesium wheel chips??

Anyone know the best way to fix/best place to go to get fixed, chips in the magnezium wheels? Just bought a set and one of them has a significant chip in the paint. Metal underneath is whitish. Gold paint is fairly thick. Don't think just touch-up paint will stop this chip from spreading. Any ideas?
While I'm at it, does anyone know what kind of lug nuts originally came with this option?

Thanks,
Mark

If the wheel is in otherwise good shape, a good body shop may be able to fix the paint chip for you.

As for lug nuts, to my knowledge the magnesium wheels came from the factory with the same lug nuts as the other OEM wheels for that model year. Initially, these were 5 lugs or locking lugs per wheel which were covered by a screw-on plastic cap. For model years 97 through 99, the plastic caps were Gray in color. Then, in model year 2000 the color of the caps was changed to Argent. Sometime in mid model year 2002 production, GM changed to the chrome plated lugs.

If you're in need of lugs or locking lugs, check out the McGard line. The McGards are triple chrome plated, come with a life-time no rust warranty and are some of the highest quality I've seen. I think they may also have the OEM type lugs with screw-on caps.

Hope this helps!

you will need to go to "wheel repair" shop to get this fixed...it needs to be filled, painted and polished.... a regular repair shop will be able to repair this...look on line or in the phone book for one near you...you may have to ship them out to have them done
the magnesium wheels are very soft and will chip easier than the other type of wheels
