You must have a 6speed if it locked up after the recall done. On an auto they sustitute the locking plate with a spacer washer. So no way it can lock then. On 6speed the locking plate is still there. But new wiring harness/relay installed is suppose to prevent the column lockup. But guess it can still lock.

Since your car is an automatic, you should not have any more problems with it after the recall. I think they put a plate in there to where the pin on the column lock cannot engage.

My 98 is an auto and no worries since the recall. The lock pin doesn't engage.
