I just got the American Flag emblem to put on the front of my car.
I followed the directions and used a hair dryer to heat up the stock emblem.
I had most of the emblem off when I noticed that I was pulling too hard and the part that the emblem goes into also pulled off the car.
I put the flag emblem in, but I'm worry when I wash my car that water may get underneath the part that the flag emblem goes into and loosens it up.
What is used to glue the emblem onto the car?
Where can I get it?
I can pull the emblem up a little to get the glue underneath.
It looks awesome, but I want to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Probably the safest way would be to remove the emblem all the way and paste it back on with new two sided tape. But I wouldn't worry about it unless it is obviously loosening up...
I replaced the emblems on my daughter's 2003 Turbo S Beetle and used epoxy. But you have to be VERY careful of drips and "strings". I masked EVERYTHING that the glue would not touch and draped the whole rest of the front and back ends with that drip cloth that is paper on one side and plastic on the other. Maybe overkill, but this is my Baby's baby and I didn't want to mess up the paint.

If you use double sided, be sure to use the gray colored tape specifically designed for exterior trim, etc. It's resistant to UV and works well on a good clean surface.
You should also heat up the surface that your going to apply the double sided tape to. Make sure all wax is removed etc. But definitely take it off and reapply new double sided tape. You can get it at most auto supply centers.
Dude I went to Home Depot the other day to get some double sided tape to fix my side screen....... they got some so strong that you won't believe it! It's made for outdoor use and it's in the paint dept. next to all the other tape

The emblem is affixed to the car with two sided tape. You should be able to just stick the emblem back down and have it hold. If it does loosen up, you can always get some 3M tape and redo the tape on the bottom of the emblem.
