Grandson + Corvette = Priceless...
When it was time to take my 5-year old grandson back home this evening, it was still misting out and the roads were damp. We'd been in the Explorer all afternoon and I wasn't looking forward to shifting gears all over town again.
Soooo, I decided to take him home in the Vette. All the way home he kept asking for a "power boost" 'cause he loves to go fast. So when it was safe, I dropped it down into 3rd for a quick few seconds of moderate acceleration.
I wish you could have heard his reaction as we did that...his enthusiasm was so pure...a future Vette owner, for sure.

Yesterday morning I passed a lady pushing a little boy in a stroller down the sidewalk. I thought the kid was going to fall out of his stroller, he was leaning over so far to watch as I drove by.
I pick my 6 year old Grandson up from school 3 days a week. If I do not come in the Vette he will always ask why are you not in the Corvette. His classmates will walk by while I am waiting on him and say they want to go for a ride, or they really like my car. Kids are great.
My grandson came down on the 4th of July and he didn't know I have bought a vette. My daughter about fell out when she seen it, my grandson rode with me all day long. The first time I stepped on it, you should have seen his face. Today he is coming back town for the holidays and all he said is Im riding with Grandpa.
I have a couple of Nieces who hitched a thrill ride in my 88, Z51, 4+3 Red Corvette several years ago. They were 10 & 12 years old at that time and they still mention the ride at family gathering; it was a lifetime impression for them.
In the past, I picked up my granddaughter from Band practice, Choral practice and Cheer Leader paractice at Junior and High School. Both the red (88)and the white (96) corvettes always attracted her friends and fellow students; and of course she loved it.
Now, I have a 4 year old grandson who insist in sitting in Grandpa's car every opportunity he gets. And with the airbag cutoff switch in the C5 he also gets to go for a special ride.
My grandson loves the Corvette. Took him to the NCRS the other week and one of the sponsers picks him up and sits him in any Corvette he wants. Sure wish I was 5 and cute at a Vette show.
I get the same reaction from my 18 MONTH old.... He LOVES driving around the neighborhood and when I hit the gas he just starts LAUGHING!! Of course he's in a car seat, and yes I disable the airbag.
