Sales Tax Information

I live in Texas and am interested in buying a C5 from a private seller. What's the skinny on paying sales tax in Texas.....anyone?

the rate should be 6.25% if its a private seller. see the following link for more info.

Also this year you can deduct your sales tax on your income tax.

Does Texas have a state income tax?
Oklahoma does.

Texas does not have a State Income Tax but for the next two years we will be able to deduct our sale taxes off our Federal Taxes.

You'll probably have to pay the sales tax when you register the car in your name and transfer the title. At least that's how it works with private party sales in Maryland. DMV collects it!
