I thought so. Thanks a lot. I am thinking about putting 411's in. What do you think?

I looooove the 4.10s I recently put in the back of my Firebird. On the track, I get a lot better launch out of slow corners than I did with my 3.42s. On the street, it's a hoot, and gas mileage is unchanged, largely because I use higher gears more often. On the freeway, I just leave it in sixth and go.

My only complaint is that I wish I had another 500 rpm on the top end. My LT1 rev limiter is set at 6000, which isn't a problem for the LS6.

Not sure of the effect 4.10s would have on an independent rear like the Corvette's, though, so better get some more data from the guys on this board who really know.

Pat

Thank you Pat. Has anyone tried this, or know anything about it?

Good luck finding 4.10s for a C5. As far as I know 3.90s and 3.73s are all that's available beyond the stock ratios.

Ok. I have found 4:10's and I am wondering what a good price to pay for them is? Thanks for your help.

milleniumZ,
I think 4.10's might be too short a gear w/ the M12 tranny, JMHO...

So you think 3]90's are the way to go? And about how much do they go for? Thanks.

Haven't had it to the dragstrip with the new gears yet. The clutch is getting "iffy," and I'm not much of a drag race fan anyway.

The car makes 261 rwhp, and on a perfect day, with as good a drive as I could muster, I'd be shocked if it went any quicker than 13.65 or so. Previous best was 13.97@101.25 with a 2.17 60'.

Pat

As I said in my earlier post, 4.10s are not available for the C5. 3.90s are the lowest gearing currently available. Here's a link to the Web site:
