Ok, so we all know the newer 2002 will have a jump in numbers, but wouldnt we all rather have the first year of the Z06 at least if your talking collectibility and resale...

Is a 90 ZR1 worth more than a 95?

If I started thinking my soon to be '02 Z06 is better than any other Vette, then I'll be the guy that doesn't come on the Forum or go to any BG events. IMO, the '02 Z06 will be just as special as the '01. They're both great cars. Like hubvette said, I'm sure both years will have a great collectible market in the future. I just will not be around when that happens. Therefore I will drive my Z like there's no tomorrow.........

I dunno, its my dads car, and Im only 17. Id like to think depreciation on these cars isnt that extreme...

In a word, no. I passed over a couple of '01s, and have been impatiently waiting for almost 4 months in order to get the '02. I wanted the HP, torque, HUD, updated rings, updated clutch, etc.

I also think it's a little silly to buy a new car for it's 'collectibility'. All these cars are on a depreciation schedule .. ie. they are going to be decreasing in value each year, for some time to come. If you want an investment, look for a good C1 or C2.

Just MHO

"silly to buy a new car for it's 'collectibility"

I agree, I'm to old and poor to think about collectibility. I just want to put the most miles on any car I buy, I'm not saving it for the next guy.

Many more Z06's will be made than the ZR-1. Look @ the ZR-! market..... I think it'll be a long wait for a favorable ROI. I prefer to DRIVE the latest & greatest, thats why I drive Corvette!!!!!

BTW, the plant skipped ~+700 seq #'s so christmas is coming early!!! My car moved up ~5-6 days..... it may enter trim this friday!!!
