[Z06] Z06 Shudder Question
After really hard accel. up over 100mph when you let off the gas it feels like the car applies the brakes. It stays that way until you come to a complete stop or get on the brakes pretty hard. Does anyone know what might cause this or have they had the same problem?

Assume the braking sensation at >100 is in 6th gear. If it were in 4th, the engine would brake noticeably at zero throttle.
Don't want to sound like the town scold, but did you consider observing a break-in period?

I got it from the dealership as a chevy demo car so I paid next to nothing for it. I will go ahead and admit that I am a mustang person this is the first vette err... chevy I have ever owned.
Thats why I did not know if it was a problem that other people have had.
Thank you guys for your help, and thank you for welcomeing me to the forum.
By chance do any of you happen to know exactly how to lower them? A friend of mine w/a vette said its just 2 bolts in the front and turning a bolt in the back, but I know the Z06 is different from a normal C5 on the suspension.

Here's a link to the lowering area!

As said before, you may have the "sticking brake" booster problem. So, have that checked out.
As for lowering, it's quite easy to do (though the front is not all that fun to do). There's a bolt that needs twisting at each wheel's control arm (so, that's a total of 4 bolts). You'll need to jack the car up. The front wheels need to be removed, but the rears don't. You can do it in your driveway in an afternoon with few problems.
If you want it REALLY low, then you can cut/remove the bushings. Either way, check out the tech section for details.

I have spoke with many transmission mechanics that actually build high horsepower cars that have emphatically told me the A8 transmission is actually very robust and can handle 700-800hp cars.
I'm lucky in the fact that I have friends that build and race drag cars. I'm going to replace my junk GM torque converter with one from Circle D. I 100% agree that we as Corvette owners should be beyond pissed off that there is a need to perform such serious repairs to such an expensive car that has ridiculously low miles!!!
I know that it is not cheap but if you can find a reputable transmission mechanic that is familiar with the A8 trans and LS motors you should be able to get this done for around $2500. That's not a cheap fix but when your done you should have a rock solid machine that will last. The LS motors have long been know for their strength and durability.
I'm NOT AT ALL HAPPY about having to do this to my car but the C7 is a remarkable machine and to me it's worth it. GM should be held accountable for these terrible torque converters!

SHPirate - Best bet is to post up your issue in the C7 Tech section and see what they have to say.
