I'm going to experiment with the michrophone setup. I'm getting a lot of "drone" from the rear storage area. I may move it up to just behind the seats in the center. I think the view looks "faster" than what's really going on. I mount this on my roll bar in the Cobra and it has a different "feel" to the video. In any case, it's going to be fun!
hey weendoggy, that setup is AWESOME! what kind of camera, mount, etc. do you have there? when do you go to laguna seca? can't wait to see the corkscrewe video.
3 calls and an email last week to 2 different people at anderson los gatos for my plates, and no call back. it's only been what, since mid-july?....
weeddoggy, camera setup looks great. I wish I could see it in person Tuesday, I'd been planning on it, but unfortunately the Z is not back together yet after Sears Point a few weeks ago. NASA puts on a real nice HPDE and looks like the weather is going to cooperate.
bluesteak63,
The lift is a Double Park by Cytech. I've had it for four years. It's been great. The Cobra is on top right now, but the Z06 has been there too! Makes working much easier.
The mount for the Z06 is a temporary one. I made it from anodized right angle aluminum (OSH) and mounted to the visor clip screws. The camera feeds into my digital Sony cam/corder mounted behind the passenger seat.
I'd like to get the speedo/tach in as well, but time was short and that'll take some planning because the angle the camera has. It will see everything in focus from close to far, but moving the camera back will have more interior views and less windshield/track views.
the video is so stable, that's what really makes it great. and the mikes are in back? perfect! you really do get the sensation that you're going much faster than you probably are.
