What is an "average" Vette?

On my '04 I just did a 2800 mile trip and averaged 29 mpg. On my '73 454 I get a little under 13 mpg on the highway. All depends upon what the average Vette is

tom...

Average 17.8 in city and 27 on hwy with cruise control set. VERY good considering my C3 get's about 8 in city and 12 on the hwy.

Hello Josh and welcome to the Forum!

That topic/question gets brought up quite often here on the Forum. Here's a few threads on the subject that have gone around in just the last few days/weeks:

Highway Mileage

What's your average MPG?

1st Road Trip

How far can you go?

How accurate is the MPG reading?

Hope these help answer your question.

Hello Josh and welcome to the forum!
My Vette gets about 30 MPG on the highway and about 16 in the city. But it isn't an "average" Vette either!!

Hard to tell since everyone's driving habits are different. But mine gets about 16-17 in town and 29-33 on the highway.

First I did a better intake and filter, although it didn't help my number any, it definately didn't hurt it.

Then I went and did a cam, headers, high flow cats, Ls6 intake and an underdrive pulley - with that setup I lost some MPG but then again I tend to drive her a little more aggressive now too....
