On Thanksgiving day I was leaving my subdivision going down a two lane narrow road... well to make a long story short, i pull up beside a older man in a white deville going 30-35 mph. I Guess this a$$ doesnt see me and starts to switch lanes to move into the right turning lane. (im on his right side) So... I slam on the brakes but not soon enough I had 2 choices, hit the right rear of his car or chance rubbing the curb. I took the curb route. What a mistake, blows out my front tire eats the crap out of my front wheel and did minor damage to the rear wheel. To make it worse the GUY KEPT DRIVING! Now i couldnt chase him because of the tire and hes too far to get the plates and now im looking a wheel repair or new wheels all togather. Who do i go to to get them repaired and what kind of price am I looking at? Iv heard you have to get all the wheels done because the crome wont match is this true? Id rather have the wheels done in texas if possible so tejas guy chime in please if you know of any shops that would do a good job.

There is a place in Oklahoma City called Wheel Connection. They specialize in alloy wheel repair. If that isn't too far to travel/ship, their address is 530 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, OK 73107 (405-947-2274). They repaired one of my wheels when it cracked. Everyone said it was toast, but they fixed it up just fine.
did you call teh cops and report a hit and run?? I would go door to door in that whole neighborhood asking if anyone knows that sumbeotch..he had to be coming from somebodys house...I don't give a damn if there are 1000 houses...I would be pissed to no end.

Sorry to hear about this. What a way to ruin a holiday. Hope you can find the driver and make them pay - but in any case you should file a police report. There are a number of places that fix wheel damage, but not too long ago there was a thread about the quality of work that was done. You may want to do a search and see what comes up. I don't think Wheel Connection was mentioned in that thread.
If it were me, I think I would just get a new wheels. If they are from a good vendor, the chrome should match up. Good luck.

Try John Page at 21st Century MC (972 417 7177) for recommendations. He had my HRE's redone and the group that did the work is outstanding.
This really sucks, sorry to hear about that. I actually think you choose the better of your 2 options (curb). Most of the time, if you hit someone from behind, even if they cut you off , as happened to you.. you would have been at fault.. even though you were driving safely if you coudln't stop in time they would have probably faulted you somehow...then you would have been looking at court cost, lawyer cost, and fighting with this guy..and possibly paying for the damage to his car etc...
hope you can get things fixed up
oh, and from what you said, I bet he never even saw you wipe out,, unless you laid on the horn.

Sorry to hear what happened, it could had been worse. Wheels easily can be fixed and you'll be back on the driver's seat in no time. I bent 2 wheels on the freeway last week (on my DD) and had them repaired for $100 each - good as new.
Smart move! I would take the curb and damage the wheels rather than collide with another vehicle. The losses and inconvenience can add up quickly in a collision. Plus your loss of time can exceed what you’re loosing now. Add in the loss due to depreciated value of your Corvette once repaired and the fact that your insurance would go up regardless of who the at fault party is. And wait there’s more . . . . .
It’s a shame the incident occurred, but be confident you handled it in the best possible manner and in did it all split second. You minimized your loss exposure.
Regarding wheel repair, I would stay clear of Wheels of America and Star Tire. They can refinish a set of wheels repeatedly and never get it right. Correcting errors by refinishing can result in your wheels not having enough surface area to be safely repaired again.
Before spending money trying to repair the wheels check on C5 parts for sale forum. You might find some replacements at a bargain price.
Sorry to hear about this problem.!
I'm no lawyer or policeman but since he didn't actually make physical contact with your vehicle I doubt if you could collect any damages from him but you can certainly file on your insurance if the damage is significant. I would certainly take in for a four wheel alignment.
