These cars do run hotter than what you're probably used to.

The first fan kicks on at about 225. Second fan kicks on at about 235.

"normal" operating temp ranges from the 190 range on the road to about 225-230 or so after idling a long time.

Something's probably wrong, and you should be concerned if temps get higher than 235.

Mine runs about 194 on the road and it gets up to 230 at standstill or creeping then it goes down to 215 and the process repeats untill I get on the road then it goes back down to around 194 again...damn bottom feeders...just ignore the temp guage or readout unless it goes over 230...I hate it but live with it cause I try not to look at it too much..its annoying as he77 unless you ignore it mostly...I now have 2500 miles on my '04...my '95 does the same annoying thing....10 years newer (my '04 ) and GM still loves to pizz us off...

If you get in stop & go and the rise in temp bothers you turn on the AC. Your temp will stay around 215, because the fans will stay on when the AC is on.

Good Luck

Yep, just as they said. If you have a 6 speed a good first "mod" would be to get it programmed so the fans come on earlier and the 1 to 4 skip shift eliminated.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum!!!

194 after it warms up. Then pretty steady from there.
