c6 z06 cost

I heard that the cost of the new c6 zo6 will be around 68,000 to 70,000 dollars or about $20,000 over the cost of the base c6. looks like I will be keeping my 01 and doing mods>>>

Perhaps not. I heard the same thing about the C6, but look what happened.

No one really knows for sure. This information will not be out until appox. June of next year, they may release price with the car after its debut in Jan. but I doubt it. You can say for sure the car will be priced at least $58,000 to $63,000, this is my guess from what all I've heard and seen. It all depends on how much Carbon Fiber, Alum., and Interior changes they use. There has been a lot of talk but all pretty much rumor. We are appox. 30 days a way from seeing her.

It seems to me that with the success of the current Z06 in combination with the economic climate, they would be just plain foolish to try to change the entire dynamic by putting the car out of the reach of so many buyers. They LOWERED the price of the C6, why would they raise the Z06 by so much? They are already having trouble selling the cars they've produced and giving rebates and 0% financing. It would be just plain

Any thing over $65K and they lose me. I'll either be forced to buy a new Z51 coupe or wait for used Z's to become available like I did with my 03 Z. I bought my 03 Z this past May. It had 4771 pampered miles, over $1600 in great mods and I drove it home for $38K or about 29% below MSRP. So if they price me out of the market I'll keep my 03 until I can fine a mint used 06 or 07. I'm in no hurry if the price isn't right.

It's not like the C5 Z is a dog and can't get out of it's own way or be modded to killer status if need be.
