Default GHL exhaust

Hi, I am thinking of buying a GHL magnum exhaust because it looks great. However I have never heard one. Can anyone give me their opinions and comments and where is the best place to purchase
Thanks,
Mike

I had the GHLs on my 00 coupe and I have them on my 04 coupe. They sound awesome, have absolutely no resonance, and they are beautifully built! I purchased both systems from Shawn at www.thelapd.com. He's a supporting vendor...and awesome to do business with!!

Thanks,

...or call Brian directly at GHL. His number is 877-930-0911. Be sure to tell him you are from CF. I bought mine from him on Monday, after many calls bugging Brian and Jeff. They were a great help in deciding which one of their systems I wanted. They have customer service like you read about!!!

Now I wait for the big brown truck

Peace
Willfulone

I have their bullets and love them.

Here is a web page with some sound files.

I have an 04 coupe. I changed from stock to the Z06 Ti exhaust. That was step one. A moderate change but not enuff.

Now I have the the GHL Magnum (4 pipes). My neighbors have made positive comment : " she is sounding good" (in an email). His wife told me in person.

Exhaust sounds are all subjective to the person listening. They look a "10" and also sound a "10". At cruising speed sound like stock. Stand on it at any speed and you sound FANTASTIC

Some of these sound clips are from a car with a blower, so they may not sound the same as GHL's on a stock car. I have the quad 3.5" bullets, and they sound exactly like the clip of Michael H. 2000 coupe revving.

Great low note at idle but some popping on deceleration. If you want a low note at idle and quiet on the freeway, may I suggest the Magnaflow with the X-pipe. Personally, I like mine without the X-pipe.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going with the GHL. Now which one between the bullets and the Magnums. Whats the difference other than price?

Magnum = 5inch cans/louder/some resonance
Bullets & Magnum Plus = 6inch cans, minimal if any resonance;

Here's a thread with GHL Bullets sound file on otherwise stock 2004 A4; GHL's are

Not true... my Magnum Dual tips were fully polished. They even told me on the phone they would be. The guy who installed them thought I had them chrome plated

Here is what my GHL's sound like on the dyno. Ignore the banging in the background....someone was beating the exhaust off an f-body with a hammer.

Note that my car has other mods as well which may have changed the sound somewhat.

Tip design.

The Magnum have outsourced/purchased tips, that GHL simply welds to their pipes.

Also, to clarify above, GHL now polishes the over-the-axle pipes on both systems. Brian or Jeff told me that it didn't really take that much extra labor to just polish all of them as they come through their plant.

The more expensive Bullet tips are hand-made and finely crafted by GHL in the way they make 1 pipe become two. For my money, they were worth the extra $$.

Thanks everyone. After hearing your comments and the sound clip, I'm calling Brian on Monday to buy. The wife heard the sound clip and said Merry Xmas to me.
