More clutch wear on a 2nd gear start from a stop... If you are rolling a bit, then 2nd gear is fine... When in traffic.... i usually stay behind enough to creep in 2nd to cut out shifting alot... I also do a 1 -3 shift and 2 to 4 sometimes....
