Attention: Those with Temp Ctrl Display Probs...
Many said the led's(light emitting diodes) were burning out and the whole unit would have to be replaced, which is still a possibility, but those of us in the electric/electronic business know that led's are pretty sturdy and normally take a while longer than standard light bulbs to burn out.
Last night, coming home from a friend's house in Maryland, I turned my interior lights on to look for a CD. When I turned it off, I decided to turn the dash lights completely off, just to try something different. I had no lights to show my speed, except my HUD. I needed to turn the lights back on so I could see my radio buttons to, so I turned the **** to adjust the dash lights. My temp display came back on. Not only was it on, but it worked with the other dash lights as I adjusted the brightness.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the display stayed on the rest of the 4 hour drive home, and didn't fade or flicker. You guys may want to try this on yours before giving up and replacing the entire unit.
I hope this helps, and if it's already been 'discovered', I apologize for the repeat.

Mike
