Hi guys. I am having some trouble with my kirban short shifter. I always finding myself grinding while going into fourth gear. It always did this every once in a while since i got the shifter installed. I make sure I shift straight down into fourth, clutch all the way down before I shift and it still grinds sometimes. I have to put it back in neutral and then try again to make it go in. Was my short shifter not installed correctly or I just cant shift? Never had this problem in any other gear or any other car.

I have a kirban shifter and have no issues going into 4th gear. I would put the stock shifter back in and see if the problem is still there.
It's a semi-common problem for the 4th gear synchros to go bad... this is what's causing your grinding when putting it in gear. They'll fix it under warranty (if you still have one) and put the upgraded steel shift forks in at the same time.
Went to the dealer about the grinding noise in 4th and they had 2 different techs drive it. Both could not find any problem with it. I guess it must me practicing bad driving habits. I sit a bit far from the petals and maybe Perhaps i get lazy... I'm shifting faster than I actual hit the clutch down. I guess I do need a bit more seat time in the z06 too. Imma make sure I pound that clutch down first before I do anything.
