Default Any problems with vararam VR-B2?!!

I am about to purchase a Vararam VR-B2. Before I do I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the system. Can you tell a difference? I just want a little peace of mind that I am making the right decision. I was going to buy a Halltech Stinger, but I think I am going to go with the VR-B2 unless one you out ther changes my mind. Thanks ahead of time!!

Funny you ask. I am in an experimental program. There are 8 of us in the Herc world that are qualified FP or First pilots. We fly both left and right seat. It is called the MPDP or Mobility pilot developmental program.

Yes, I can tell an improvement in performance after installing a B2 on my '04 Z, but now I'm throwing DTCs left and right. From what I understand, the code issue is mostly for the '04 models. I'm gonna have to go see someone for a tune to clear this up. I can tell it's running rich because of the putrid exhaust smell that I notice occasionally. Beware if you own an '04.

Good system though...

You are right. The 04's usually do throw codes but when I talked to the rep he said they tested it on an 04 Z and that it didn't throw any codes. I guess the just didn't drive it long enough to throw them. I really want an intake but I don't want to mess with the code ordeal. I do have an 04 Z and I am kinda thinking it just isn't worth it. I don' know!

I'm getting codes left and right on my 03 also, but I have the Halltech stinger. The thing I keep on hearing is that the ZO6 already has some sort of a Ram-air system by not having the fog lights. I wanted to get the Vera-ram but I heard it's somewhat cheaply built and it's hard to make it fit right. My guess is that any after market induction system that works will throw codes.
Let us know what you do!

Installed a Blackwing on my 04 Z06 and 600 miles later zero codes. Can feel and hear the difference and am very happy so far...

What kind of codes are these? Easy to tune out with HP Tuners?

No codes on my '01 w/ a Vortex. Code issue is mostly w/ the '04's.

They are lean codes. I don't think I am going to buy anything unless a new product arrives that won't throw codes. I just don't want to rig anything on my baby. I will probably put LG long headers and high flow cats with Xpipe!!

If you're going to do the headers, you'd might as well do a real intake and get it all tuned or you're leaving some serious power on the table.

Nah, the stock Z06 just let's in more fresh air 'cause the foglight housings are gone. As for build-quality, the VR-B2 isn't that bad, and it fit fine on my '04. The instructions are absolute though.

As someone already said, if you're eventually gonna get a tune, add the Vararam for a true ram air system. I think it's the best intake out there for the Z.
