The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

i always heard people saying not to post your tag, and always see pics with blurred out plates.... but whats the point? i dont get it. people see our tags everyday!!!! ALL day!!! its no secret! so whats the difference if some local guy see the tag, or some guy online in some other state?!
sorry to hijack the thread with the question!!
All the info attached to a registration. Name ,DOB , address, vehicle information, year , make , vin number, Insurance company code.
Then they can either come by and steal the car, use the vin to get keys made.
Years ago every RICER we found stolen , had the ignition key made by one of the local locksmiths. Turns out there was a KEY CODE in the Vin.
EBAY vehicle scams have been known to use Real Vin numbers. This way if a buyer checks , the vin comes up legit. Yes
So , I know people are going to say, "it wont happen to me", but it has happened . Cant really prevent it. Anyone can still get your plate on the street. Just beware......thats all!!!!!!!!!!!
(yes I am paranoid by nature)
