i just installed new wheels and along with it new sensors....when i go into the programming menu on the dic and try to program them all will program but the left rear...the horn will sound like it took but never reads on the dic....just blank????....any suggestions on how to or what to do?....
I just bought some Z06 rims & tires from a guy and had new tire sensors installed. I followed the instructions found on the link on this site and later found another site with very helpful pictures (http://www.corvettefever.com/techarticles/16820/).
It took several attempts and a few different magnets but I got it to work. My guess is that the sensor was positioned in such a way on one of the tires that the rim blocked a lot of the magnetic field.
I did not have the GM tool but first tried a regular magnet used to pick-up dropped screws. Did not work. Next I bought a strong rectangular magnet about the size of a box of matches. Worked on 3 wheels. Then I bought a pencil-looking magnet that was pretty strong - only worked on 2 of the tires. Finally I bought a fairly strong round magnet that was about the size of a quarter. I rolled it around the valve stem and all four tires were finally trained.
Up until that point I was certain that there was a sensor problem but it was really more of a magnet problem. We have a science & surplus store around us so there was a wide variety of cheap magnets to choose from.
Anyway, I just thought I would past this along, especially if it is your first time doing this (it was my first time). Hope that helps.

You have to be in motion for the sensors to send a reading to the display. I think the sensors start transmitting when you reach speeds of 15+ mph. If you did this and it still doesn't work, try reprogramming the sensors again. If that doesn't work, make sure you have the correct sensors for the year of your car ('97-00 are compatible, '01-04 are compatible). Hope one of these things solves your problem.
