[Z06] 1st & reverse gear issues

1st & reverse gear issues
OK so i took the z out the other night... It was a cold 41 degree night and was out having fun with her. Well came to a stop light and tried to put the car into 1st gear and no go. It just wont lock in. I eased out and tried like 2-3 times before it let me in. Also i have noticed that when going into reverse i have the same issue. Its like it just wants to stay in the 5th gear.
Is anyone having the same experience or is this a problem starting up?

Yes I have. The gear teeth are lined up point to point. It always happens at an inconvenient time. If 1st won't work, 2nd usually will.
I can always shift easily into any gear when the car is moving. This is because the wheels continue to rotate the internals of the transmission. I try to remember to shift into 1st gear just as I am rolling to a stop. Once stopped, I put the shifter back into to neutral and release the clutch. When the light turns green, the teeth are already lined up to allow shifting into 1st without any fuss.
I've got 57,000 miles on my Z and I know that it is doing this more than when it was new. I have thought about trying a better trans lube to see if this would help. Currently, it does this about once every 30-40 startups.

same issue here

from what I understand from this forum, its not really a "problem " as much as it is an irritant .... and a symptom of most of the Z06's
sometimes it takes me several tries to get into first .....and / or reverse
