Z06 Clutch??
Hello everyone just registered last night. I have a question about the Z06 clutch's. i have a 2002 Camaro SS which is turbocharged running at 5psi right now. It put down 457RWHP and 460RWTQ on stock fuel system. When i am done upgrading a few things i plan on uping the boost to 8psi...so i guess that would be in the 550RW range?? My question is if i upgrade to Z06 clutch will it hold that much power? I dont plan on taking it to the track untill i upgrade a few more things. So there will be no dumping of the clutch with sticky tires. Maybe a street race every now and then. I just need something to hold me over untill i get a 12 bolt and get a nice aftermarket clutch cause i think my stock one is taking a crap on me lol. I really dont want to get a performance clutch cause i still have the stock rear axle, and i am affraid that it might put to much strain on it. I heard the Z06 clutch's are a good upgrade from the stock camaro clutch if you have the stock rear axle's. Think a Z06 clutch will hold up?
Thanks

So save yourself some aggrevation and bucks by starting out with a clutch that's engineered to take that power.
I'd start by reading the clutch threads on ls1.com and ls1tech.com. Might also want to get a recommendation from Cartek.

The reason for the upgrade is that a friend was doing an install of a 411 rear end in my car and he came across a great deal on a new Exedy twin disc. So I decided to do it all at once and give my son the Z clutch to install in his clutch slipping Trans Am, sort of like a hand -me-down. Gary
