That is a good article. I learned to drive in a Lotus Elan. Doing the HT thing was just part of driving, as far as my dad was concerned. Drove a friend's Viper the other, the first manual car in probably 5 years, and could still do it like yesterday. I encourage everyone to learn this technique. Not only is it good for the car and the fast way to drive, its just sounds good!.
And if the gap between the brake and gas is too high, or the "heigth" of the brake versus the gas is too much, I use my heel to blip the gas instead of the outside of my foot.
