Had to drive through a puddle in the parking lot this morning, deeper than I thought. Parked and came back at lunch. Started fine but put it in drive, little bit of gas and it seemed like it was skipping or something. Engine immediately came to life and sounded good until I got onto the street and got up to 35 started skipping again and then the engine light came on. It seemed to be running fine so drove it to lunch and then home after work but light won't go out.
Anyone have this happen and how did you get the engine light to go out?
I have not checked diagnostic codes and do not remember how to do that. I haven't been able to make a thorough search of the forum for that help topic yet. If you can tell me how to do that before I spend a lot of time on the search function that would be great. Thanks
Thank you everyone. I was able to use the web page noted in GrayC5 and Zilla's post to clear the codes. The engine light went away and drove great to work today. The puddle in the parking lot was much smaller and not as deep today but drove REAL SLOW through it.

Glad you got the light cleared and that it appears there was no engine damage. Got to be careful going through those puddles.
