Default Storing Car

I use my 03MLYELZ06 very infrequently during the Winter. On a rare nice dry day I'll take it out for a ride but for the most part it stays in my heated garage. My question is am I injuring the car by not moving it for long periods of time and if so what should I do to avoid any problems?

This is a very difficult question to answer with what you have provided. Where do you live? That will have a bearing on the accuracy of the reply. How much relative humidity is there in your winter air?

It would help if you were more forthcoming in your public profile.

I have mine stored in a heated garage as well and what I've done with every one of my stored cars over the years is:

*change the oil and filter
*fill the fuel tank and use stabilizer (I prefer Stabil) and run it thru the fuel system thoroughly
*put on a Battery Tender or disc. battery (less preferred method)
*make sure car is clean and I usually put another coat of Mequiars on
*cover and get prepared to frown for couple months :>)!

Periodically thru the winter (every couple weeks or so) I will start them and make sure they come up to operating temp. (210 degrees coolant temp) and shift thru the gears and move the car a little to minimize flat spots in the tires. This is just IMHO.....some folks say never start them after you store them until you are ready to use them. The thing here is, if you can take it out periodically then all ya have to do is unhook the battery tender, refill the gas tank and wipe it off and it still is safely "stored" when you put it back. I have never experienced leaks or other problems with my method so guess I will stick with it. Good luck and think Spring!!

Your fine! All this stuff about changing oil when stored in a bunch of S----. What is the diff. about oil stored in your oil pan or in a qt. NONE!! If the oil is dirty change it before you fire it back up.
