[Z06] stock wheel weight?

stock wheel weight?

Anyone know what the weight of the stock wheel set is? Were they the same for 01 as well as the following years?

how much do 2001 z06 wheels weigh compared to chrome plated replica z06 wheels?

i'm doing that swap curious how much its gonna slow me down

OE Z06 wheels are ~19.5 lbs front and ~21 lbs rear.
I weighed mine after having them machined by Panther and they were both right around 20 front and rear. So the above numbers are good.

And the '01's are heavier than the '02 and later Speedline wheels.

That really depends on who did the chrome plating and what wheels they are. If they are chrome plated OE wheels then they are probably about 2 lbs heavier than the '01's. If they are chrome plated replicas then they could be as much as 7-8-10 lbs heavier per wheel. Some of the cheeper replica wheels are extremely heavy.

wow looks like my car is gonna gain almost 40 lbs

i'll have to put her on a diet elsewhere.. i've heard doing long tube headers saves a little weight

I may be wrong, but I thought '01 wheels were lighter than '02 and later! Since they were forged aluminum compared to the cast aluminum of the '02 + !

The '01's are definately heavier. I had an '01 front wheel (smaller) and compared that to an '02 rear wheel (bigger). The '01 front wheel was noticeably heavier without even putting it on the scale. GM switched to the cast al wheel in order to save weight.
