Transmission neutral switch
I've been having sporadic problems with my '03 A4 not starting even though the selector is in Park. I was told today that it's probably the neutral switch.
Anybody know where this switch is (in the console, or on the transmission itself), and is it something that is easily changed? And where can I get the part? Possibly Ken Fitchner?

Before you go replacing it, there is also an adjustment procedure for the neutral switch but you need a special GM alignment tool for it. You may want to try that before replacing it. The tool part number is J 41364-A. Here's the location of the switch. Doesn't look to tough to get to but you need the tool to align it during installation anyway, according to the procedure. I can email you the adjustment and replacement procedures if you email me.
