Default Convertible partition Owners?

I'm contemplating one of the partitions for my convertible. I've been told they're usable with the top up, or down. I'm interested mainly in noise reduction and protecting the rear edge of the convertible top when it's down and I have luggage and such in the back. Has anyone any experience? Pros & cons etc?
Thanks

I'm going to get one of those for my vert from Dan at Exotic Vette and by all accounts they are really great. They are on special at the moment.

Some are some are not, the first one I got (2 1/2" thick) has to be pushed back into the trunk area when you drop your top because of the thickness. The next one i am trying, I just got from Dan in the mail today and will install tomorrow. Look like it might be a winner.

I'm always curious how much of the noise comes from under me and how much comes through the fabric above me. Never having driven in a C5 coupe before I have nothing to compare it to, but regardless I'd be the first to say my vert is quite loud when at freeway speeds. Having had one, I'll never be without a convertible again. Just take the noise as a cost of the ride

If anyone near SLC, UT has a vert with a partition give me a shout. I'd love to see what noticeable affect this would have. I'm always tempted to do my floors with sound deadening material but just can't make the leap of faith without experiencing it.

Interesting! Vette 4 Fun, hope you post your likes/dislikes after you install Dan's partition. I wouldn't want to have to adjust the location each time I put the top down.

Yea, I was NOT a happy camper the first time I had to open the trunk and put the thicker one back into place... again and again and again...

PS Here is the link to the new one: http://www.exoticvette.com/Exotic%20Vette/partition.htm

I had the Sound Killers and thought the looked good. However, they do kill the sound from the rear speakers too. I just bought the partition from Dan at Exotic Vette and installed it last night. The fit and finish is very good and the top goes down without any interferance from the partition. I have not tested the sound dampening on the road yet but I am satisfied so far.

I made a foam rubber partition 1 in. thick and used spray on adhesive to glue black carpeting to it. It's pressure fit and does a great job decreasing the noise from the trunk area. Looks good and most people think it's part of the trunk. It also protects the edges of the top when it's down.

I bought one from Dan Exotic Vette and the fit and finish were perfect. It reduces the road noise and actually made the rear speakers sound better... No need to remove or adjust when the top is up or down and I can still open my storage compartments.. Highly recommend a partition from Dan.

Thanks to all you guys with the complements! We've been SLAMMED with orders and I haven't had much time to keep up with the threads... Our partitions are still on sale until Jan 1. I can't promise delivery by Christmas on orders after today though.

Oh, and check around, I think you'll find our convertible partition is by far the best on the market and we offer OEM matching colors. One other company sells a copy of ours, but not the same quality and I designed it from scratch.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Dan
