Default can somebody help a brotha out?

had headlight motor gear problems 2 wks. ago. did the whole turn the gear 180 degrees thing and used the other side of the gear. worked for 1 week and stripped the other side. called Rodney and ordered the brass gear wed. and it was at my door friday(props to rodney, excellent customer service). I had to fly to dallas friday and got back an hour ago. installed the new gear and manually turned the light back down into position. now when i use the switch to turn them on everything works fine coming up,but when i turn them off the side with the new gear goes down and then right back up. I know i put the linkage on wrong somehow but cant seem to figure it out. I've got to have this puppy back on the road in the morning for work since the daily driver is down. can someone help me out please???? thanks

You're going to have to disconnect the linkage again from the motor, make sure the joint is bent the same way as the other light, towards the front, I think.

What year car? Were there washers on motor mounting bolts? Did you seat rubber bumper in gear? No offense meant, just checking!

01, no washers and replaced rubber inside gear that came w/ the kit. it just looks like the motor will spin longer than the other one, making the light come back up. thanks for the help RandW
