As bad as I dislike the thoughts of a bra, I hate road rash and paint dings even worse. So....a bra will go on for the long road trips.
No one seems to have posted anything about the polyester bras. Do they offer the same protection as the vinyl ones? Seems like they might be gentler on the paint.... opinions? Also, how does the red polyester blend with torch red?
The clear films seem to have a big following. How "invisible" are they on torch red?
Thanks in advance for any input. I'm sick of winter and ready for summer and road trips!

The cloth bras are very convenient in that they fold up nice and neat and can be washed. But, I would think that if you encountered a lot of road debris (rocks, etc), they would develop small holes in them that would eventually spread. I could be wrong on that though. I have the GM bra and have been very pleased with it. The thickness alone is enough to convince me that it would take a rather large object to do any damage to the bra. Plus, I have not had any problems with the bra affecting the paint.
Hopefully someone that has one of the cloth bras will chime in. Many have them and seem to like them, I just don't care for the price (about double the cost of the GM bra).

Me too! Fichtner Chevrolet has them for about $70 plus shipping!

I have the cloth (polyester) bra from C5 Creations and really like it. I have put almot 4000 highway miles on it this year and it has ZERO holes. I am pleasantly surprised that I have almost no paint chips either, even with those highway miles. Very easy to put on and take off and as pointed out above, when you are done with a trip, take it off and toss it in the washer.
What I like about it is the ease of putting on and taking off. When I drive to a show or cruise in it takes me 2 minutes to take it off and store it in my storage box. Antother 2 minutes to put it on and I am on my way.
It looks great with Mag red, not sure how it would look with torch red. See photo below C5 XTC
I went with the "leather" bra, drive it on the highway almost everyday, it's saved my butt many times. Including a rock the size of my fist that bounced off my fascia and hit my windshield. The windshield has a chip (small) but the fascia was untouched.
Thanks for the input and pix XTC.... the cloth jobs look to be really convenient. As far as the cost factor goes, either one is a whole lot cheaper than a paint job!
I have seen the cloth bra and do not believe that it would effectively stop any stones or bug juice. I use a Speed Lingerie bra. It is color matched, fits like a glove and stays on all the time. Costs a bit more, but is worth it.

Hate to disagree with you but "ain't no bugs ever made it through the bra" and I DO have an absence of stone chips......just hafta take my word for it. I don't sell them I just use 'em. C5 XTC
