Lately, within the last two to three weeks, I have been noticing an anomaly in my electrical system.
The heads up display resets to the default setting, my average MPG and average speed resets to 0, and the Gauges resets to oil pressure (I usually have it set to water temp). Last night my head lights would not come up, even though I would manually turn the switch. I had the twilight sentinel ON. When I turned it off, then I could get the head lights to pop up.
Is the battery getting ready to go belly up, or is there a problem with one of the computers (Body Control Module)?
What year is your car and is it the original battery? I have seen a lot of weird things reported as the AC Delco AGM batteries are slowly dying, but I don't remember this set of symptoms...

OK, so it is either the AGM that likes to die early or it is the leaky one that likes to cause $1000's of damage - I think if I were you a Redtop would be my first step in eliminating this problem, and if it is an early 2001, I would do it NOW - here's why
My guess would be either a battery going bad or corroded grounds. CF member Bill Curlee is our resident guru on the C5 electrical systems and submitted an excellent post not to long ago on the inspection and cleaning of the grounds. If he doesn't chime in here shortly, check for him in the C5 Tech section of the Forum where he ususally hangs out. He should be able to give you some good guidance. Good luck with the fix.
