Painted mine using a product called Folia Tec (epoxy based paint) that I got from Xtreme Motorsports. I did mine when the dealership was installing new rings and I had them pull the calipers off the car. Took them home, cleaned them up really good, and then brushed on the paint. I must say that after more than three years, they still look like new. The paint is very durable and has a nice gloss to it.
You can do the painting while the calipers are on the car, it just is a little harder to reach all the spots.
Painted mine 18 months ago and they were chipped two weeks later by my local dealership. Idiot chipped them taking the wheels on and off. You really can't tell unless you get real close. Keep some extra paint around for touch ups, it's bound to happen. Last week though, I installed new rotors and pads and painted the hats and brackets black. It really looks finished now.
VNM Performance (Mark) is powder coating a set for me in Purple... I have looked at the kits, but didnt' want to brush it on. He was charging $200 as a xmas special and I asked what it would be for an exchange and he is doing them for $350. The normal charge for this service is $550. I can't wait for them to arrive.
Plasti-kote caliper spray paint, sprayed into a container and brushed on. I just used steel wool on the Corvette lettering to remove the paint and clearcoated to protect it. Basically a couple of afternoons work. Sadly, I took the picture before removing the tape and the overspary in the center.... . I really need to take a new picture.
I took mine off to paint with Foliatec epoxy caliper paint since I was doing the Eradispeed rotor, polished pad covers and SS line swap anyway. I also took the opprtunity to adjust my parking brake. The calipers came out great and they've been perfect for three years now. The Foliatec was a bit expensive but the quality was very good and I only had to use about half of it.
I pulled mine off, spray painted them with Red Engine Paint, baked them in the oven at 220 and put them back on.
I sanded the letters with a very fine sand paper to get them silver again.
They look great!
Only downside was because I took them off, I broke the seal on the line. Because they were antilock, I had to take them to the dealer to get them to stop being mushy. Cost me ~$60...still much cheaper than new Z06 calipers.
Hope this helps,
Mac
OK, I'm a little conscerned, I was thinking of taking them off to get a better coat on and prevent over spray. I'm glad I read this first, so if I took them off to paint or replace I will need to go to the dealer? Anybody else had this problem?

No worries. Just be prepared to cap the hard line once you disconnect the flex line. If you let the fluid just drain out the air will work it's way up to the ABS. Do one wheel at a time and bleed it immediately. Then bleed the whole system again once your done. If you have no caps then improvise. Use fuel or vac line with a bolt shoved into one end. Remember, one wheel at a time.
I'm not really as brave as you all are too do this job by myself...did I read somewhere that you can just "buy" them already done and just put them on...or take off your old ones and exchange them or something like that??? If this is so, who does this and where are they located. I'm looking for yellow myself.
Thanks.
You can buy powdercoated calipers in colors from forum vendors such as WCC and VNM. You can also buy Z06 calipers (red) from many of the vendors here as well.
If you're concerned about painting, then you're probably not going to swap them yourself either. Have somebody you completely trust do this job because these are your brakes we're talking about here. That means your life.
just painted mine.... bought red caliper paint kit from Avance Auto Parts ( same as WCC and Midamerica corvette sells) and looks great... costs $14.88 plus tax...SORRY TYPO ON ADVANCE.... looks great ...sorry no pics...
