Default possible future C5 owner

hey guys, i'm a regular at the C4 section. had my car for like 2 or 3 years. i love it, and have done a few light mods to personalize and improve my car. well the time has come for me to upgrade again, and i'm wanting a C5. i know that they are getting a little cheaper and in my price range now and started looking at them. here are my required needs and possible plusses for the car i want. it must be a 6 speed as well as a hard top. i dont want black, pewter, or dark anything. the lighter blue would be nice. any red, white, metallic silver, or the like would be fine. i'd prefer a black interior but that's not really a biggy. the important thing is that the car be in good shape. i dont want the wagon wheels, and the condition of the car must be in tip top, shape. as in a really sharp daily driver, not a show car tho. the reason i'm saying all this is that i want to know if there are anythings i should think on before i buy one.? what are these cars prone to have mess up on em? do the windows leak? any parts on the engine need replacing regluar? any common problems?

again, the need for these certain requirements is that in the future i plan a radical engine swap, with very involved suspension upgrades. so a ZO6 really wont matter as it'll all be the same after i'm done, but i just want yalls input. i love the look of the C5 and am excited to get a newer, faster, and more user friendly vette. i still love my C4 tho, and if i had the $$ id keep it and get another one as well. but as it is, this is my plan. so please share opinions, thoughs, and advice as you see fit. thanks lots and hope to join the C5's soon.

Do a lot of reading in C5 gen & tech, oil pressure sensor, Tire sensors, headlight gears are minor problems you may have to deal with. Some extremely knowlegeable(sp) folks here that can walk you thru just about anything! All in all very dependable daily drivers. Good luck and get the C5 soon!

Do you want a hartop or a coupe? The only issues with the cars will have most likely been taken care of if your buying used. The only big thing I know of is the oil comsumption issue on the pre '01 years. In '02 they changed the oil rings. The batteries had issues but most buy the Red Top. There's my .02 Good luck with the search.
