You will be fine as long as you do not drive in deep snow like you said you won't have any major issues. Tire selection is key,,everyone has a different feel with different tires..some say Mihelines are better than good years etc....
I don't drive mine in the winter because of all the salt mainly..rain/wet conditions won't melt it so drive it
If you get a C5 or C6 I would for sure consider buying a set of winter rims/tires then you should be good to go.
