i'm not sure if that is normal, but mine is stored with comp, and it allows me to keep the plates

What they're saying in a confusing and convoluted way is that you are going to drop all of the coverages except for comprehensive. That's all you need to protect you against fire, theft, vandalism, weather and glass.

You don't need collision or any of the liability coverages.

I don't know why they didn't just say that! They seem to love to confuse the public with complex terminology - although it's gotten better than it used to be!

I know what they meant by the comprhensive payment. I had an itemized quote... I just found it hard to convey that on here.

At least as far as I know, this is normal. The comprehensive coverage would still protect the car against theft, fire, etc. Would not go with anything less.

JD,

I just rec. a letter from my Insurance co. as well. They used the same line "storage Insurance" I guess all it means is Comp. which Is all I keep on the car during winter storage. The bank wants to protect "their" investment since I still owe a little on the baby.

I just leave my Comprehensive Insurance on the car, and take away the rest of the coverage.

This is what I do also. I do not have the numbers in front
of me but it tends to be reasonable perhaps 30 dollars.

What part of comp wouldn't you want for storage?

I guess I see them as essentially the same thing.

Makes insurance coverage for the year cost about what my daily driver does.

I changed mine from full coverage to the storage insurance through State Farm, and my premium went from $400 for six months to $60 for six months(actually four months). This covers the car against fire and theft, and if the garage falls in or my mother- in law drives through our garage door , homeowners picks up the tab. It's worth it I think.

I have state farm and my car is stored from nov till april and i keep my plates.the insurance covers only if something happines in the garage, all other coverage is taken off for those months the amount i am charged is very cheap for those months it is stored.
