I have never seen the need for a light-weight jack. My ten year old 100lb U.S. made steel jack has never given me any problems. It has wheels so I just roll it around .

I have a three ton 100# jack also, a 2 ton 80# jack and a 37 # light weight aluminum jack. guess which one I always use.. OH BTW Im 60 years old..
when I was a young pup, I carried two 3ton jacks all the time... up hill both ways.
seriously jmzvet, when you get older it makes a difference, especially if you jack up all four corners every week.
The 129 dollar jack from Harbor freight is a good jack, light weight, quik pump, auto air bleed valve, etc.
BTW this jack is low profile, its the reason I got it, my other jacks wont get under my lowered car.

I got a deal on a PepBoys mis-print for a low profile 3 ton jack, stands, and blocks for $59! My jack is heavy as ****, but it works well and I can use on my SUV and Trucks... That looks like a great deal for a low profile aluminum...
I just bought this puppy this morning, original price was $99.99. I used the coupon supplied on this forum. It has a warranty for 90 days. It was on sale a few weeks ago for 79.99. As I'm running nonrunflats its going into my trunk for its weight and lower profile. My $35 2 ton jack will be used in the garage as its a heavy sucker. Personally I think this is a good deal with a little caution in the wind. BTW I'm 67 and dem bones feel it.

I did not see much of a difference between the $80 and $130 jack other than the quick pump and a handle on both sides. Other than that they looked virtually identical which is why I did not opt for the $130 one.
Beware of this jack - been some problems with it. Safety should come first - Don't want to see any of the forum members (or anyone for that matter) get injured or ...worse
