Getting Rear Ended
It was another woman that hit my wife and after it happened, they both got out of there cars and looked at the vehicles for damage. Neither woman noticed any problems at all so they decided to continue on with there days.
Now back to this dreaded call, it didn't happen at the incident scene, it didn't even happen directly after the incident. She casually told me about it while I was on my way home from work, when she called to see if I needed anything from the grocery.
WHAT THE F**K!!, was my response. You get rear ended in a fiberglass car hard enough to move the whole car and you don't call the cops for any sort of documentation incase there is anything cracked on the car that is not initially visible. She then assured me that nothing was wrong and I was over reacting to the whole situation.
When she got home in the car I did a visual of it (hard to see as it was getting dark) and it looks fine outside of the paint being a bit hazy where the actual contact was made. I do not know if anything on the inside of the facia is cracked but it initially looks okay, just needs a little buffing on that spot.
Has anyone been rear ended and not suffered any damage? or am I just not looking hard enough yet?
Also, was I overreacting for essentially blowing up when my wife notified me she used her "immense paint and body expertise" (dripping with sarcasm) do determine that there was no need to call the cops or notify me when the accident happened?
Sorry for the long post, just need to vent and get ideas of where to check for damage.

the energy absorbers under there break very easy!

The cover is urethane and will fair better than a fiberglass bumper ever would.
People should always call the cops in an accident if for nothing more than to receive a copy of a police report. Most times nowadays, unless it's blatantly obvious, cops don't seem to write tickets because of so many lawsuits. (not to mention the fact that I'm not sure if they can actually write a ticket if they didn't physically see the accident itself) (I'm not sure, perhaps a LEO can enlighten us)
Hope your car didn't get anything more than the clearcoat scuffed.

I wouldn't be worried about posting, and getting opinions on the car's condition if there was something wrong with her.
Her health is the number one priority, I asked about it right after getting the details of the car's damage!!

Maybe I should just get it repainted, along with a new hood!!
(like in your other thread)
Wish I had the cash/bargaining ability with my wife to pull that one off. If there was more damage to my car I could potentially use the guilt trip on her to get mods out of this. That would turn these lemons to lemonade!!!

Mine was hit by a full sized pickup (est. 25 - 30 mph)and it did crack (1-3" long crack) the back panel, so our circumstances are a little different. However, even though it cracked - it looked like it would not be that bad damage wise. $5300 later I now understand that it can hide damage real well - in the energy absorbing structure behind the panel.
I don't think yours will be as bad as mine was, but the other thing to keep in mind is that your car was hit - the other driver's insurance should cover your damage. Better to be safe now then to later regret that you didn't do anything.
