Pulled in next to a blue C6 in a parking lot. Well both cars sitting side by side drew a little attention. 3 people came up none Vette Savy and started asking me questions I explained the diffrence 2004-2005. All three said they liked the C5 better. Now I think they are both great looking cars. But I still think the C5 is a prettier car. Not as busy looking sleeker and smoother lines. It also looks as if it's sitting lower probably due to the C6s larger wheels.
Was at the showroom of my local Chevy dealer the other day, C5 & C6 setting side by side. I like the C6, but, from a pure objective car guy kind of observation, I must say the C5 looks better. I'm not hung up on the C5 looks, or stuck in my ways, but, all in all, I just think they did a better job with the C5.....
On the way home this evening, a C6 and then a C5 drove by me within a minute of each other. They were both Mag Red, I believe. The C6 looked nice coming and going but it took a few seconds to recognize while it approached me even though I havve been looking at pics and real C6's for months now. When the C5 approached, I knew exactly what it was the second I saw that badazz, mean, hunched form coming at me. Looked awesome from the rear too. I really like the C6 but that C5 took my breath away.
Today I was parked across from a chevy dealer and spotted a C5 next to a C6 and thought to myself that the C5 looked better then the C6, the C5 looks like it evolved from something else with its smooth lines while the c6 looked cut up and stubby, BUT the C6 is definitely performer in every other way and thats whats most important
i wont say either one is nicer there both the same car but oh so verry diffrent the styling is sharper and more lines on the c6. the c5 is low and wide smooth i LOVE them both
I'll admit it.......I love the C5. Trying to be totally obective ( ) I believe the C5 is the more classic vette....All the lines come together to make a beautiful car......
In the C6 section the sentiment is just the opposite & all their experiences with public attention centers on the C6 above the C5. They are both Corvettes & people will have their biases.
I passed a C6 today going on the opposite direction, and Im not yet used to seeing them on the street. I did not recognize it until it was completely opposite to me.
Im waiting for the Z06 version and see if I cant live without one. I passed up on the Z16, I'll try the new one when it comes out.
I think C6's look cool as hell as you see one going in the opposite direction on the road....but when parked next to a C5, I just can't believe it is the successor.
It looks much taller overall and the rather high and blunt front/rear ends make it like a family sedan parked next to a C5.
One thing that is striking about the C5 is the VERY low front end of the car that slopes to the top of the hood line... If I were to hit a pedestrian... it would be in the ankles..

Interesting comment. I have had my C6 for about six weeks now, and my very informal and unscientific poll tells me I'm getting fewer waves in the C6 than I did in the C5's. Having said that, I do in fact like my C6 better in every way, including the looks of the car.
BTW, I do get a few thumbs up in it, but by far the most consistent thumbs up come from guys riding sport bikes. They seem to really be on top of things.
