Help w/replacement HUD part
When I bought my Vette, the HUD window (the one in the dash, not the windshield) has a ton of really fine scratches all over it. I would like to replace that piece, what piece is it, can I replace just that part and how much work will it be?? Thanks!! Steve

Hopefully someone else will chime in to tell you how to get this piece out. But it is plastic and should be easily polished out. Go to a local motorcylce shop and buy some windshield polish. That should do it.

I think you can't just buy the glass for the HUD according to my parts manual it looks like it is one piece. The part number is 10279814 or 10316475.
I entered these numbers into GMPARTDIRECT website and the cost for GM list is about $340.

I don't see this part as being a standalone item for order. I do agree that you can polish the plastic with plastic-polishing compound. I have some and it does a good job getting minor scratches out. I've seen scratched up taillight lenses polished to a high mirror polish with the stuff and a hand-held polishing machine.
