Just curious what the average aged Z06 driver is. I'm 23 years old and I worked my **** off to get where I am and afford one and it sometimes ticks me off when people think I don't deserve it, especially older vette drivers. What do you think of young vette drivers?
I'm 38 and just got my first Vette a month ago, a 2001 Black\Black Z.
Not sure why someone would think you don't deserve it. I think if you
can afford it at your age more power to you. Enjoy.
35 here look 25. I bought my Z after 12 months in Iraq and saving my $. It's my job and I have been doing it for over 16 years, and I am happy to be still having fun and making a differance. There was a post liek this when I 1st got on the forum. I am happy for you that you could get a Vette so young. I had F bodies when I was your age and I say on your success.
Dave
I think it's great when younger folks own Corvettes. I wish I could have afforded one when I was your age. We need more young people to get the Corvette bug. Seems like most prefer foreign cars, not that I'm knocking foreign cars. To each their own, I just prefer American muscle, grew up with them and will probably die with them.
Just in case your curious, I'm 60 years old, drag race my car occassionally, and plan to autocross it and do a couple DEs every year. In other words I love to use this car for what it was designed to do. I also enjoy just cruising in it.
Welcome to the Corvette family. Don't forget to wave.

I also think it's great that you can afford to have a Z06 at a younger age...I'm 52 years young and my 03Z06 is my third vette. I plan to keep this one for a while and continue driving vettes for a LONG time.
I'm 33 and my 04 is my first Z06. I got my first C5 when I was 29. I get tired of the "your having a mid life crisis" crack. I've always driven nice sports cars since I was 16. Luckily by the time I was 29 I could afford the best made american sports car and by 33 the very best Don't let some of the older guys fool you. If they could have had that car at that age they would be all over it. That's not to say the older guys are @$$. Most are pretty cool, but there are spoiled ones in every bunch.
I'm 55 now, but bought my first vette when I was 23, If you can afford it, what's the problem. I promise you that the car doesn't know the age of it's driver.
I'm 37 and on my second new 'vette; I bought my first new 'vette
right after turning 34. As long as you're not living rent free at
home with your parents or neglecting more important aspects of your
life just so you can drive a 'vette, then I'd say you're doing great and
you're way ahead of many people your age. It takes discipline and
hard work to know what you want and achieve some success early in
life.

19 years old here... I've had the car for a couple months now and enjoy it. I stepped up from an 01 Camaro SS to an 03 Z06 and have no regrets obviously!
i'm 27, my first vette was an 86, got it 5 years ago, worked hard to get that, modded it a fair bit, drag raced it, drove it daily, it rocked... during that time i was saving up for a newer vette, i just love the looks of the C5's. i got a used 2001 Z06 about 4 months ago and couldnt be happier, this thing rocks only problems is, i got all these monthly payments to make on it, so i can't get any mods for this car for a while, well except for the halltech intake i got last month. oh and the HP tuners i am ordering for xmas.. and um.. yeah i said i wasn't gonna mod it till it was paid for, but it's kinda addicting... anyway, good on ya for also earning your way up to a vette
33 here. Got my first C5 (a '99 'vert) at 29 (it was a goal to do that before 30, and boy did I bust my tail to make it happen). Sold it this summer and bought the '04 Z fresh off the dealer floor. Never had a new car before either. I intend to keep this Z till I become worm food.
32. SSgt pay with 11 years in and 10 months in Iraq mean I could afford to spoil myself with a Z06.
I had a Iroc that was sweet, but then got bored. So I bought a restored 66 Chevelle with a super sweet package in her. She was allot of fun. But when I got home I thought I should stop messing around and just get the best.
I liked my Iroc. I thought my Chevelle was sweet, but I LOVE my Z06.
When I'm driving her I think I might have upped the bar a little to much to early. I can't go one up any more. There isn't anything else higher.

I agree... I've always been captivated by the American muscle cars. Other than my dads '87 suzuki samurai I drove when I was 16, every car I've actually owned has been a Chevy muscle car.
'86 Iroc Z 305 5L tpi, Blue
'87 Iroc Z 305 5L tpi, Red
'88 Iroc Z 350 5.7 tpi, Black
'01 Z06 Red
I still own the Black Iroc and have owned the Z06 for a month now and am absolutely thrilled every time I get in it. It's cool seeing other corvettes on the road 'cause everybody waves
