Firestone Firehawk RFT opinions?
Please only opinions on Firestone Firehawks, I have asked similar questions about Michelin Pilots, Kuhmos, etc. So I've been there done that. Do you like and would you recommend them, etc. I'd like to stay with a runflat. I understand they come highly recommended from the Tire Rack but I would like your opionions as well. Thanks.

I bought a set of Firestone Firehawks...SZ50EP's for my '95 but they were not runflats...I really like them
i have superiour traction out of my firehawk runflats over what my folks have on their goodyears, at least in the rain....dry pavement they both do well but i know mine will stick very well. the quietness is the big thing. ive had several on this car so far and plan on continuing the practice.

I had a set of Firestones on my 98 coupe and liked them. They seemed to be quieter and stickier than the OEM's. However, that could be because I went from old to new.
I bought a set of Firehawk Runflats about a month ago and they are mahvelous in every way....of course I was going from highly worn-balding original GYs but wow, 90% noise reduction, super traction, etc etc...
I have them and love the quiet ride compared to the Goodyears.
But be aware that, according to Firestone, if you drive on them after a flat (that's what runflats are for, huh?) you will have to replace them. The Goodyears do not have to be replaced.

I have a set of these that I run during the winter months. I have had no problems with them. They handle well, ride great and have much less noise than the Goodyears. I would recommend them.
IMO, an excellent choice.
I have a set in the garage. The road noise in my vert was fairly loud with them, so I bought Kuhmo ASX for local driving and re-install the Firehawk's for long road trips.
My next set of run flats will also be Firehawks.
I've had them before on my 99 firebird and they were great. there is only one big problem with them. They are ugly. The side walls are not as squared off as the goodyears and they have those ugly but useful curb protectors. If you can get over the looks they are great.

Thanks, would you happen to have any pictures of them. I thought about that after I posted the thread.
It's not the lip that bugs me but the roundedness of them. They just don't compare look wise to the Goodyears. the goodyears have a lower profile. Granted, I would take the firestones performance wise over the goodyears any day.
