the other day while working speed enforcement i spot a mag red C5 going 77 in a 60. well since i was doing the state funded grant program working traffic on the highway and they want us to cite for 75 and up, i figured id at least stop it. well she pulls over right away and i introduce myself as an arlington officer and tel her the nature of the stop. she says she is in a hurry because this message just popped up on her dash about low tire so she is hurrying to get some air in it before it goes flat....i give her all the info about how to hit the reset button to find out how much air is in it (22 psi) and told her about when it was flat it woudl say flat tire and maximum speed blah blah blah. she seemed to be very appreciative about the info, and no she didnt get cited. just thought id share and if she's in this board, did u get it fixed ok?
Very nice of you...could use more like you in TX...especially Arlington and Grand Prairie area.
And here's a question...what exactly is the state funded grant program? Does that mean I'm safe up to 75MPH?
That was very nice. I suppose you didn't have to give her a break based on the 75 mph standard given to cite
I know when I'm speeding and when I'm not so if I get stopped, I won't argue. I've found if you show some respect and acknowlege your misdeed, the LEO's are more inclined to give a break.
I hear people gripe about the bad attitudes some officers have. Well, I would probably have a bad attitude as well if I was lied to with such regularity. I'm happy knowing that Law Enforcement is keeping the highways safe for me and my family. And if they catch me, well that's my fault.
I find it amusing that some of the you would even print the lies you might use if you get caught (GTC for example). Are the forum member LEO's making a list?
I am sure that all the LEO's have heard it ALL before, but if they remembered me from the forum cause I used... oh never mind, here's my license, Officer!
Chad, you're a class guy. I find that most LEOS are like you if people would just give them a chance to be. The problem is that many people break the law get pulled over then cop an attitude like it was the LEOS fault they got pulled over. When the leo responds to the attitude with attitude people think he's being a jerk. Some of us appreciate the job you guys are doing out there. Have a safe holiday.
Hey, Sebringsilver97coupe. I'm in Arlington for a week on business, so if you see an Electron Blue coupe with TN plates going fast but looking lost, cut some slack, please.
IMHO she was pulling your chain. She probably did know all about her tire pressure system, her run flats, etc. That was one of her many excusses. Oh please don't give me a ticket.
