Default typical c5 bashing

from c6 section,
case in point, the question was: why did they make the c6 shorter?

1. Because it was too big.
2. Removing those hokey pop-ups left a ton of space.
3. To give befuddled C5 owners something to complain about.

Why let it bother you.
It was probably the same when the C5 first came out the C5er's bashing the C4

Blah It's just a C5.5 not that much of a change compared to C1-C2 or 2-3 or 3-4 0r 4-5.

This banter reminds me of the G35 Coupe vs 350Z flame wars

In 5 yrs., they'll be whining about the C7.
Who cares ... I love my car ... I paid for it. Nuff said.

That isn't too bad, the 2005 gt bashing and them bashing everyone else (including cobras) over at stangnet is so unbearable. Even this forum makes me want to switch sides.

Styling wise/Drivetrain layout. And LS2 = aftermarket LS1 if you think about it.

You'd be angry too if you had a constant stream of people from the previous generation coming into your section simply to bash your choice of 'Vette.

I can envision the Porsche 911 forum members comments over the years (not much "perceivable" change, year to year, since 1964):

Klaus: Ya.... my new 911 has slanted numerals on the speedometer.

Gerhardt: So vhat! My (last year's model) 911 has the headlights pointing straight down the road, not up at the sky.

Axel: My new 911 has four-tip Bosch spark plugs.

I'll throw a wrench in the theory by stating that I am probably going back to a C4 (a ZR-1 again, but C4 nontheless) both the C5 and 6 are VERY nice cars, but they have lost a bit of the traditional Corvette attributes...too civilized. I may consider a Z06 but like the C5, the 6 will be over produced and common. I just prefer something not many have. I am not a fan of the C6's rear (even moreso than the C5 which I accept but don't love). I also don't think the C6 is a radical enough depature from the C5 to proclaim the 97-04 model DOA. I wish this would go away, but we will have to endure this until the mods stop it or it fizzles out.
