You should have gotten two with the car - I did with mine. Go back to the dealer and ask for the second one. If they won't do it, you will have to find out the resistance of the chip in the key and then you can get one from the dealer, Ecklers, or a good locksmith.
The Dealer is going to cover it, they are just saying that they cant just get a key without having the car inhand. The dealership is about 4 hours away. I just want to make sure they cant get it without the car.

Depending upon how you want to go about it, you have a couple of options. You can simply head for the dealer with your vin and your key and they can get you a replacement. I think they will charge you around 75 dollars. You can also get the VATS code from the chip (resistor) on your key which is one of 15 values and then order a blank from Ecklers
