Had the Bullets on a week, had the x-pipe installed today............sounds terrible. I loved the raspy sound the bullets had. Now they are way too mellow. Anyone ever put an x-pipe on then removed? I am gonna see if the shop can put mine back as it was. If so, I have an x-pipe for sale cheap.

Yes, significantly quieter and changed the tone too. Looking at the two pipes (stock vs. x-pipe) I didn't think it would make much difference. It did, but not for the better. At least not on my car and what I as looking for.

I bought an X-pipe but haven't put it on yet. Don't know if I will now. I have heard that it will mellow the exhaust tone and do away with the popping on deceleration. But I can't speak from experience.
x-pipe is off and a modified h-pipe is back in place. That deep, raspy growl is back. I'm not touching it now. I plan on bolting on a s/c this spring maybe and that hopefully will be it. x-pipe for sale, used 15 minutes, anyone interested?
I had the same result. I started with just the bullets. Idle was perfect, and was loud but good. I did not like the popping on deceleration or downshifting, I then installed the corsa Xpipe. Its much too quiet at idle compared to before but sounded much smoother with little poppoing.I would not advise doing both at the same time so you can compare. Im happy with the xpipe. Also I installed an intake after this and it did wake up the sound a littlle. I do plan on headers in the future.

What type intake, LS6 or air intake like Halltech, Blackwing etc.?
I guess it's what each individual wants there car to sound like. I am just glad the guys at the shop were able to get me back where I started......................and get this, NO CHARGE!!!
I brought them the car and the x-pipe, all they did was labor. I went back today and explained that I wanted to change back and emphasised it was nothing they did at all. Only my preference in sound. They put my car on the lift right then and there, took the x-pipe off, modified my h-pipe to go right back in place and actually allow the bullets a little more clearance from the rear valence. After complete we took the car around the block to make sure all was OK. They were happy that I was happy and said Mery Christmas!!!
Now I have used this shop for well over 17 years for exhaust on every vehicle I have owned (except motorcycles) and have sent them numerous customers too from word of mouth, But never expected anything in return except the professional and courteous service they have always given me. Way above and beyond what anyone else would have done for me in this situation, makes ya feel good to have someone do something nice for ya without a price attatched.
I installed GHL Bullets about a month ago, with no X-Pipe. Nice and deep. I imagine yours now sounds similar, since the two systems are very similar in design. I won't be adding an X-Pipe after reading this thread...
