Default Clutch replacements

I'm looking for my first vette, and I want to get a FRC. What I want to know is how long your clutches have lasted and/ or when you replaced them. Indicate what kind of driving you do ie; hard ,hiway, around town ,ect..

99 coupe, I changed mine out at 120,000 with an LS6 clutch, master and slave cylinder and DTE 410s. Driving style i would say rather HARD but only on acceleration or anytime a mustang tries to challenge me....been beat by too many fords

Hopefully someone with a lot more miles on their car than I have will give you some idea of how long a clutch lasts. I only have 25.5K on mine, and the clutch is still very strong. I am hoping that I get at least 75K out of mine since I do not do any really hard driving. But, I have never kept a manual equipped car long enough to find out for sure. I spoke with one of the forum vendors last summer when I was inquiring about headers and the ability to change out the clutch was one of my concerns. The vendor told me that I should get at least 45K from the stock clutch, but I think that was a little low and perhaps he thought that I drove the car much harder than I do.

I replaced mine at 80K with a Zo6 unit. Pretty good luck out of my MN6.

I have had my 99FRC for two years now and only had one scare. I was at the track and launched about 4k (DR's or course) and went to shift and there was no clutch pedal. After I coasted to the 1/8th mile mark the clutch came back.

On the street I drive like an Old Lady, but flogg it at track time. I have 30K on the clock and about 250 runs and 2 hours of auto X time. Excluding the one issue listed above I have not had any issues.

53000 miles, no issues yet. I drive her relatively hard, and have a few runs at the strip and autocross
