Poor Corvette
As we were leaving our local health club today, we spotted a white C5 in the parking lot. You could tell even at some distance that it was really dirty...looked like it hadn't been washed, let alone waxed, for months. Wheels were coated in brake dust and other road dirt and in general the whole car looked bad. Wish I'd had a copy of the "10 commandments for Corvettes" with me...Would have stuck one on the windshield...
I almost wanted to tell it "Sorry" as we drove by...

Unfortunately, some people just drive the cars and pay little attention to their appearance. I guess it is their car to do as they please, but it is a shame to let a fine automobile look bad.

... ...but then its just a car...

It is possible that they have just returned from a long road trip. I have had cars look like hell after even a 2 or 3 hour trip in bad conditions, especially mountain passes this time of year, .....however, the buildup of brake dust is clue that it might just be neglect.

right...just like my wife doesn't get it sometimes...her:"i wanna drive the vette 2 work" me:"it's kinda dirty (by vette standards)" ..her:"didn't u just clean it the other day??". .me:"no...i cleaned it yesterday when u weren't around"....point is...u think u can drive the car 4 even 1 night 2 work and back or wherever and it's not gonna pick up dirt just from driving on a dirty road/ground....??? i'm just funny like that like most of u are....i'll get up and clean it up in the morning b4 she goes 2 work even though i've only been sleepin 4 an hour or so...

Sometimes and I mean just sometimes....people buy cars to be able to say....I OWN A CORVETTE........
They have never experienced Permagrin.....they havent wanted the car since they were a kid. They just have the excess cash to say....>LOOK WHAT I GOT>.......
Well.......I own a corvette.....>Look what I got.....I have dreamed of this car since I was a kid. I SUFFER FROM PERMAGRIN while passing it in the garage.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY vette is nice and warm and clean and happy in the garage.!!
I drive it like it was meant to be driven......
Some Vettes will fall by the wayside and be owned by people who dont wash them and dont understand them.
For those of us in the majority.....Enjoy the heck out of it!!!!!!!
Happy Holidays...and thanks for letting me ramble!!!!!!

Good Point Jennifer. My car looked like that once, and only once. We got stuck for 5 hours of downpour in Ohio coming back from the NCM for the 50th Celebration. The next day I had to drive the car the last 500 miles looking sooooo bad between the road dirt and diesel exhaust. I have video to prove it but you could hardly tell it was a Corvette, let alone red. Usually, I won't even take the car to work if it isn't clean and I've been known to use quick detailer to go over the entire car (you know, you see a spot and just keep going ) just so I'd feel better about driving it. If it is neglect.... shame on them.

Being relatively new to the Corvette experience, I'm not familar with the "10 Commandments for Corvettes"...pray tell, what are they so I don't become a heretic?
