Info on LS1edit ?
My question is, Is it necessary to have it dyno tuned (LS1 edit) for best results, or will the car's computer figure out the difference on it's own? I don't know how much a dyno tune cost, but I'd guess between 5-9 hundred? I've seen personnel programmers that can be had for 3-4 hundred bucks. Will these work OK?
I've only had her since September and I'm still learning, so please take it easy on me if this is an old topic,
Thanks a lot for any guidance...
The Predator is an excellent tool for the beginner - I would highly recommend staying far away from LS1Edit until you have some more PCM knowledge under your belt. LS12Edit does NOT have a "Performance Tune" built in, like the handhelds do. Also, LS1Edit assumes that you know what you are doing and will allow you to change anything that is controlled by the PCM - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, so be warned.
I bought LS1Edit and a Predator and started tinkering with "powers beyond my meagre comprehension"
- and almost messed up my engine. I used the Predator to put it back to stock and stopped playing with it until I read a LOT more about what the heck I was doing - or THOUGHT I was doing.Have fun with the mods - and remember that this is the slippery slope. Once you start - you are hooked.

p.s. I bought Inferno (below) on September 27th 2004 - it was bone stock then.... need I say more?
