New shift **** and shift boot question
I was installing my new shift boot and shift **** when I accidentally dropped a set screw down the opening of the shifter shaft. Will this cause any kind of damage to anything?
...15K miles later, no problems...

Along with many other forum members, I, too, dropped one of the set screws into the tunnel --- I'm pretty sure the instructions SAY you HAVE to do that 
I think one of our fellow droppers wrote that there is an opening at the back of the tunnel that they fall out of .... eventually.

I dropped a bolt down there once before I got wise and started laying a towel over the opening while working there. To get it out, I drove up my slanted driveway and slammed on the brakes. Bolt rolled out the back where the tunnel opens up between the x-pipe legs.
